Our client, CRU International Group (CRU), is a global commodities analysis specialist. They approached Epicentre with a request for independent compatibility testing services on their Fertilizer Week website. This is one of a number of their traditional commodities analysis products that is now being digitised to support their global customer base.
CRU approached Epicentre in the final phase of their project after they had tested the website functionality in-house. They had an urgent requirement to ensure that their Fertilizer Week website was properly accessible to all users, across a range of platforms, browsers, mobile devices and also to those with disabilities and users of assistive technologies. Epicentre provided a team of testers at short notice to help meet the client’s quality objectives within a short period of time. Epicentre’s test provision included; test planning and test script development, cross compatibility testing, bandwidth throttling tests, mobile device testing and WCAG 2.0 accessibility tests.
Epicentre found a range of compatibility related defects, including several classified as severity Major, which would have not been picked up during functional testing. They also observed some important trends in terms of problems accessing the site across mobile devices. These were fed back to the client. The project was delivered from Epicentre’s test labs in Brighton and therefore provided CRU with access to testing specialists and also a full range of browsers, operating systems, hardware, accessibility software and mobile devices.
